Description

Allen Meadows: A relatively deeply pitched nose betrays somethingslightly funky that struck me as geosmin (an organic compound thatcauses an earthy/musty odor), or if not that, then somethingclosely related to it. When I first reviewed this from bottle in2009, I did not notice this aspect so it's possible that the funkis limited to this bottle. Otherwise, there is excellent energy andsolid mid-palate concentration to the middle weight flavors thatfinish with fine persistence. Still, this was an awkward showingand I'm not sure whether my original review (see Issue 34 or thedatabase), or this one, is the more appropriate one. If I have thechance to retaste the '06, I will post an updated note in thedatabase.
