Description
Allen Meadows: An expressive, elegant and wonderfully layered noseof spice, fully mature fruit and even a whiff of sous-boiscomplements the detailed and attractively rich flavors that possessequally good depth and stunning length. There is superb richness tothe highly seductive medium-bodied flavors that exude a subtleminerality and good power on the sappy and mouth coating finishthat delivers outstanding length. I have had very consistent notesover the years. This beauty should continue to drink well for manyyears to come though there is no longer any reason to hold itfurther as it has arrived at its peak. Note that another bottle wasdrunk in 2012 side by side with the Jayer-Gilles '93 Echezeaux andit was fascinating to compare the power and richness of theJayer-Gilles with the more refined and lighter-styled Jayer.
