Description
Allen Meadows: While still relatively primary there is at least
some secondary nuance to the ripe and spicy dark berry fruit and
floral aromas. There is excellent volume to the big-bodied, round,
sweet and earthy flavors that are nuanced by notes of truffle and
game before culminating in a still moderately firm, dusty and mouth
coating finish. This could easily be enjoyed now because the
supporting structure is very well-integrated though personally I
would opt to hold for another 5 to 7 years first. This has turned
out better than I originally foresaw because while it is clearly a
very ripe wine, the ripeness is less evident than it once was and
thus it's not quite so sun kissed as the typical '03.
