Allen Meadows: This possesses the freshest aromas of any wine here
today with notably elegant black fruit and earth aromas leading to
classically styled and structured, robust and muscular flavors that
display plenty of young Clos de Vougeot austerity. Curiously for
the vintage, the flavors are sweet but almost under ripe and this
finishes with a rustic and powerful backend. A wine that is clearly
for the patient as it will require the better part of a decade for
this to unwind and resolve its structure.
