Allen Meadows: A brooding if not inexpressive nose features notes ofearth, soft spice, dark and notably ripe dark berry fruit. There isoutstanding concentration to the big-bodied firm, reserved, overtlypowerful flavors that are underpinned by a still very solid wall oftannins on the sappy and somewhat austere finish that deliversoutstanding length. This remains relatively closed and a wine thatis clearly still very much on the way up. Consistent notes save forone recent bottle which exhibited just a touch of finishing dryness.
