Allen Meadows: An expressive and actually quite elegant nosefeatures lemon rind, spiced pear, white peach and plenty of driedfloral influences. The supple, round and imposingly scaledbig-bodied flavors are impressively concentrated and while quitepowerful, they are also quite seductively textured beforeculminating in an explosive yet impeccably well-balanced finish. Asis usually the case, this is a big wine but it retains a certainrefinement that, in the same vein as the Bienvenues, is not exactlyexpected in a bold and exceptionally rich vintage like 2009.
