Description
Allen Meadows: From a bottle opened in 2015: While the overt woodinfluence that this displayed in its youth has softened and gonetoward more of a menthol character, it is not so strong as tomaterially interfere with the distinctly floral-inflected red berryfruit suffused nose that also exhibits hints of game, earth andunderbrush. There is excellent energy to the well-delineated andmineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that possess a sense offocused power on the ever-so-slightly acid-tinged finale that isenough to notice but not enough to be drying. To my taste this isstill clearly on the way up and should reward at least another 5 to8 years or so of cellar time as the tannins are sufficiently firmto warrant it. In sum, I very much like the depth and this justneeds to round out a bit more first. Another bottle, tried fromdifferent storage in 2016, seemed more advanced and altogetherready.
