Description
Robert Parker: 1995 was the first vintage where Angelo Gaja had
total control over the viticulture and vinification of these
Brunello di Montalcinos. This wine is spectacular, and among the
finest I tasted from this vintage. The 1995 Brunello di Montalcino
Rennina's dense dark ruby/garnet color is followed by a superb nose
of chocolate, mocha, cedar, smoke, jammy berry, cherry, and
strawberry fruit. This full-bodied, sweet, ageworthy offering
exhibits super-extraction as well as high tannin. Flamboyant, it
will be even better with 2-3 years of cellaring, and should last
for two decades. This is an exceptionally impressive Brunello from
Angelo Gaja.
