Allen Meadows: There is a whiff of volatile acidity to theotherwise highly perfumed nose that reflects moderate secondarycharacter along with plenty of spice and earth notes. The lighterweight (not dilute but certainly not concentrated) and preciseflavors are utterly delicious while offer excellent length despitethe presence of a touch of '96-style acid tang. For my taste thishas largely reached its peak even in magnum format though Iunderscore that it should easily hold for years to come. In sum,this is perfectly good but not a distinguished vintage for thisnormally excellent wine.
