Description
Allen Meadows: Subtle, backward, slightly austere nose of honey,
citrus, minerals, white flowers all framed by distinct new wood
notes are followed by full-bodied, beautifully textured flavors
that display excellent length and impressive finishing intensity.
This is quite closed and even vigorous swirling didn't coax much
from it though this doesn't strike me as a wine that will remain
closed up for very long. I would give the 2001 Montrachet 6 to 8
years of bottle age and then check in to see how it's evolving.
