Antonio Galloni: The 1999 Brut Assemblage shows the richness and
baritone depth that comes from the greater use of red grapes in
this wine. Smoke, red berries, licorice and minerals are some of
the nuances that flow from this brooding, inward Champagne. A
textured, creamy finish adds further complexity and personality to
this highly engaging Champagne. The 1999 Assemblage is 42% Pinot
Noir 29% Pinot Meunier and 29% Chardonnay. Disgorged March, 2008.
